During this excursion you will see the main attractions of the capital of Alaska: visit the Church of St. Nicholas, see the business and historical center, the local Capitol, the governor's house, admire the view of the city from the observation deck, visit the old gold mine, now the Last Chance Museum and the Golden Brook, where even today you can see prospectors hoping to find a gold nugget.
After this you:
Visit the Church of St. Teresa, located 25 km from the city. The temple was built in 1933 on an island, to which an unusually picturesque pedestrian path was built. The temple stands on a hill from which an incredibly beautiful view of the Chilkat Mountains opens.
Visit an Alaskan paradise - the Glacier Gardens botanical garden. Amazing flower arrangements surrounded by the pristine nature of a temperate tropical forest amaze and delight even experienced travelers.
The tour continues with a visit to the magnificent Mendenhall Glacier. You will have the opportunity to walk along a route that was covered with ice 100 years ago, get as close to the glacier as possible and admire the beautiful waterfall. Between June and August you can also see salmon spawning in local freshwater streams. Opportunity to see bears, porcupines, beavers. On the way back to the city center, you will visit the aquarium, which houses a rich collection of fish living in Alaska, and a fish farm where salmon are bred in close to natural habitat conditions.
